Yes. We test the actual drop from the camera position ahead of the show and, if it is not credible for broadcast, run bonded cellular aggregating multiple carriers as the primary path with the house line as a secondary rather than the other way round.

Is cellular reliable enough for a live stream in Manhattan?

With aggregation and honest testing, yes. We bond several carriers and measure throughput on-site with the room full rather than empty, because contention with a few hundred guests is the condition that matters. The encoder is also configured to degrade gracefully instead of dropping.

Do you provide IMAG as well as the stream?

Yes, and we run them as one system. The cameras cut for the room and the remote audience together, with the switcher, the wall, and the encode handled by a crew that is coordinating rather than by separate vendors working in parallel.

Manhattan has the best connectivity in the country and the worst venue internet. Both are true at once.

The fibre exists, but the loft you booked is on a shared consumer line and the hotel ballroom’s wifi is doing double duty for four other events. We plan the uplink on the site walk — what the building can actually deliver, what we bring, and which one the stream will genuinely run on.

What changes about streaming a show in New York.

Venue connectivity is wildly inconsistent. A purpose-built conference floor can hand you a dedicated circuit; a Chelsea loft or a landmark room often has a shared line with no service guarantee. We test the actual drop at the actual position before the show and, where it is not credible, plan bonded cellular as the primary rather than the backup.

Cellular in Manhattan is dense but contended, especially at street level and in basements. Aggregating multiple carriers is standard, but so is testing throughput on-site under real conditions — a bonded uplink that measures well at 10am in an empty room can behave very differently with several hundred people in it, all on their phones.

Camera positions run into the same access problem as everything else. Tight rooms, low ceilings, sightlines obstructed by columns, and cable runs that cannot cross a fire egress all shape the package, so positions are planned on the site walk and drawn into the plot — particularly in union houses, where adding a position on the day is expensive.
